What is Reflexology?

Reflexology is a well established hands-on therapy that,as far as we know, was first practised in China, Egypt and India more than 6000 years ago.

What happens in a session?

The reflexologist uses thumb and finger pressure on reflex areas of both feet that correspond to specific organs and parts of the body. Using a unique method of thumb and finger pressure, the practitioner assists the body in achieving a balanced state of working. many clients fall into a state of deep relaxation during session while others prefer to talk. The direction of movement in the body is always towards balance and the practitioner is acting as a catalyst within this natural process.

Is it safe for everyone?

Yes, reflexology is recognised by many doctors, consultants and other healthcare professionals as a completely safe therapy which can be received by everyone, including older people, babies, children and pregnant women. Keith works as a reflexologist in a NHS hospital treating patients with a variety of physical and mental health issues. Reflexologists do not diagnose, prescribe medication or treat specific medical conditions. They treat the while body. Reflexology is complementary to alopathic medicine, not a replacement for it.

How many sessions will I need?

Clients usually report a greater sense of wellbeing and relaxation after a single session. For certain conditions, however, Keith recommends a course of treatments and discounted packages are available.

Keith's clients have reported: relief of stress and tension; (the probable underlying cause of many health problems.) a feeling of vitality and wellbeing; (improved blood circulation to the body organs provides clients with nutrients and removes toxins.); greater confidence and a healthy glow (stimulation of reflexes in the feet may promote the efficient functioning of body organs enhancing the complexion and natural beauty of the client.); relief from ailments. (including sciatica and back pain, IBS, sinusitis, headaches and migraine, insomnia, depression, conditions associated with diabetes, lack of energy, etc.)

Keith is registered as a Reflexologist with the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council. http://www.cnhc.org.uk/

"Having had a long history of painful lower back and neck problems which had involved surgery, I decided to try Reflexology with Keith as I was still getting severe lower back pain making it very difficult to work and function normally. I was amazed to find that after a few sessions the lower back pain almost completely ceased. I have now been mostly pain free for a year and am no longer reliant on any prescription or over the counter pain killers.Keith’s refreshing and positive outlook combined with helpful suggestions really encouraged me to concentrate on improving my overall health and fitness. The treatment, including acupuncture, also provided me with much needed support when my father died earlier this year after a long and difficult illness. Keith’s acupuncture is so good I am having cosmetic acupuncture as well! It is working wonders on my face as well as lifting my mood and health. Thank you for all your help Keith!" Mrs. J.B. "Following chemotherapy last year, I was left with a problem in one leg. A couple of times the pain was so acute, I was taken to A&E by ambulance after not having slept for days. The hospital were very kind but the only assistance they could offer was to give me stronger painkillers. I was either in pain or in a dream world as the strong tablets were affecting my brain. I went to Keith at Happy Soles to see if reflexology could help. Following the initial consultation, I decided to have the reflexology and acupuncture treatment once a week. After the third session I felt a "shift" in my leg and found I was able to sleep better at night. Then after 5 or 6 sessions, I was walking without a limp for the first time in months. I carried on with the weekly session a while longer and then reduced the sessions to once a fortnight, then once a month. Before starting the treatment I struggled to bend down to put my socks on without help. Now I am back to full strength and doing exercise classes several times a week. There was an added bonus. I went to a birthday party the other week and someone asked if I'd started using botox as I looked so much younger!! Thank you Keith, it looks like the acupuncture is working its magic." "There's no doubt reflexology works. I have been using this therapy, in the various countries I have lived, for about 20 years. Keith Moore, 'the foot whisperer', is without question, the most skilled and effective reflexologist I have ever had the pleasure of meeting!" Laura, Businesswoman 2009"
