I love my job and thrive on seeing people making improvements whether that be to their body composition, strength, conditioning or mobility.
Above all the physiological changes I love seeing shifts in peoples attitudes that come with achieving their training goals; increased self-confidence, energy and a shift in their personal perception of what is possible.
Training wise, I focus heavily on improving movement patterns by getting rid of restrictions, improving stability and increasing strength. I am passionate about the health and body composition benefits of resistance training/moving weights. The message that I fight hard to instil in people is: Appropriate compound lifts such as the deadlift can and should be performed by everyone, regardless of age and gender....This means you!
As a personal trainer my aim is to teach new skills and help people to achieve their fitness goals.
Most clients initially hire a personal trainer due to a poor body image/health reasons but once started can realise the full benefits of working out, which has so much more to offer than just looking better in a swimsuit!
The body wants/needs to exercise, not only does it improve our fitness, strength, flexibility and overall health, but the natural endorphins that occur and of course having a better body image, can greatly improve one’s mental outlook on life.
The pre-conceived perception for some of personal training sessions, is of being pushed way beyond their comfort zone/capabilities, but for me, confidence and a sense of achievement in each session is key.
For that reason rather than go full beast mode, I start my sessions with a full and lengthy assessment of the individuals starting point and goals, and we build on that session by session.
Working hard, learning new skills and hopefully having loads of fun!
Training Styles/Strengths/Specialties
I endeavour to incorporate fun within everyone's training, whilst working towards each individual's goals.
I am a specialist coach of functional movements, CrossFit, gymnastics and weight lifting and have several years experience. I incorporate these different coaching styles into my client's session's, and let me tell you why, each session with be varied and never dull. Each movement has a functionality purpose (real life use), the movements can be performed at a high intensity, making you sweat alot and can bring out your slightly competitive side to energise you to want more!
With my style of personal training, you definitely won't get bored. No more tiresome running on the treadmill! We'll avoid the machines/movements you dislike and find the ones that you do.
Through my passion and experience, I hope to teach and encourage others to learn new fun styles of training and techniques. Remeber, you don't have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great!
Hi, I'm Darren Brook - Advanced PT and online coach
I'm 43 years old, married to a great woman and father to two lovely kids.
Fitness has been a passion of mine since I was a teenager. I usually spent all of my pocket money on fitness mags and exercise equipment. My passion is still as present today as it was then. If anything as I've grown older the reasons to stay in shape have become more obvious.
I love what I do.
Coaching people that are ready to improve their health and overall fitness allows me to share my passion and change lives. I have worked with athletes, businesses and thousands of clients over the years. I work closely with people to effect positive changes that fit easily into their lives.
The benefits of being more active and fuelling your body well is common knowledge. The challenge is more often than not finding a way to fit it into your life in a way that you enjoy without making you miserable
You can be happier, healthier and have so much more energy each day by making a few small changes. Your life can be so much more enjoyable.
There is nothing more motivating than looking and feeling great ... I can help you too!

I have 20 years experience in combat sports across judo, karate and kickboxing.
Over that time I have won championships across regional and national levels as well as qualifying and competing at the IGKF world championships in 2016 and was a part of the national coaching team for 4 years.
I hope to take this further and follow a career in fitness and combat sport coaching, expanding my knowledge and experience as I go, guided by the ethos of “have fun, learn something, help someone”.
My training focus has mostly been sport specific with flexibility, strength and conditioning as accompanying regimes and continue to expand on these areas as I gain more experience in the fields. Helping people has always been the biggest reward for me whether it’s been coaching competitors or hitting personal goals.
